The Affects - August 12thOn Sunday, August 12th, at the Irish Times, the return of The Affects will be performing for their seventh appearance featuring the classic 50's and 60's Night. Please note the change in day and date from what was previously posted on the website. The event will start at 4:30 p.m. sharp in the Beer Garden (weather permitting). In case of inclement weather, the event will be held in the Main Bar. Period dress is optional. No cover charge. Live Jazz Event - August 19thThe Brookfield Jazz Society will host a Live Jazz Event on Thursday, August 19th in the Cottage. Music will be from the return of the very popular band called Central Standard Jazz. They have played for the BJS once before and performed at the Jazz-o-Rama earlier this years. Doors will be open at 6 p.m., meeting begins at 7 p.m., and the music will start at 7:30 p.m. There is no cover charge for this event. More details can be found on the Brookfield Jazz Society website. A word of Thanks goes to Tischler Finer Foods, Giron's Italian Restaurant, and the Irish Times Pub for their generous sponsorship during the June 19th Live Jazz Event. Music Fest In ReviewA huge "thank you" to everyone that came out on Saturday, July 21st, to participated in the first ever Music Fest in Brookfield. The evening was a most awesome event with all of the bars that came together to provide live music at each establishment and a trolley that connected them all together. The Irish Times featured singer and guitar play Jerry Eadie in the Main Bar. The Beer Garden was open to all and was the best place in Brookfield with the ideal weather we had. A word of thanks to all of the bar owners that helped organize this event. Coming in SeptemberNow is the time to make plans to attend our Fourth Annual Irish Times Guinness Oyster Festival on Saturday, September 15th. The event will start at 2 p.m. and music as usual by "The Dan Hamilton Trio". Menu will consist of Oysters, Smoked Salmon, Mussels, Shrimp Cocktail, Clam Chowder and more. A limited Regular Menu also available. Meet The 2007 Oyster Queen and sample a complimentary 'Pony of Guinness'. Come and enjoy a fabulous day either in The Main Bar, Cottage or Beer Garden. There is no Cover Charge for this event. Quantities Going FastNow is the time to buy your limited edition original Brookfield Jazz Society tee-shirts. The shirts are 100% cotton, come in Royal Blue or Classic Black, and are available in Medium, Large, X-Large and XX-Large. Some sizes and colors are in limited quantities so please order soon.
