June Blues Festival - UpdatedAttention: Due to a scheduling conflict the event date and musical entertainment have changed for this event. The great food and good times will remain the same as always. On Saturday, June 23rd, the Irish Times will host its second annual Blues Festival in the Main Bar. The event will begin at 8:30 p.m. with music performed by Laurel Holman and Groove Express. Along with the great music there will be plenty of Louisiana Stew for everyone and a visit by the Berghoff Girls. Berghoff Bottles All Day Special for $2.50! For more information please visit the Irish Times monthly calendar: Pig Roast 2007This year's annual pig roast was a huge success. The weather could not have been more perfect, the music was great, and there was enough pig to go around for everyone. The top 75 pictures from the event can be found in the Pig Roast 2007 image gallery. The movie slideshow that accompanies the image gallery has music provided by The Gentleman's Club Bluegrass Band. It was a great time for everyone and we look forward to seeing you at this event next year. Brookfield Jazz SocietyThere are no live jazz events scheduled for June from the Brookfield Jazz Society. Not to worry since there is a great line up of presentations that can be found on their website: http://www.brookfieldjazz.org/schedule.html If you would like to be informed of the Jazz Events in the area, please email Ian Tiele at his new email address bjs@brookfieldjazz.org. While visiting the BJS website, please be sure to read about the upcoming Live Jazz Event on July 19th. That event will feature an auction for a homemade quit made just for the BJS. Please email Ian at bjs@brookfieldjazz.org for updates on this auction or to place a bid. For those of you who do not have a chance to come out to the meetings, but still want to support the BJS, then now is the perfect time to do it! Visit the BJS Merchandise page and order a tee shirt or two and wear it during the Brookfield Fourth of July Parade. Irish Times Genealogy ProjectThe ITGP was formed to bring together people who have an interest in their family's history. The format of the group will be one of helping each other to do research on an informal basis. Lou Yore will coordinate the meetings. Those who participate can learn various resources that are available and where to access them. Those who have previous experience can assist those who are just beginning. The inaugural meeting has been rescheduled for Sunday, July 22nd at 2 p.m. in the Cottage at the Irish Times. Future meetings will be decided at that time. No, we did not get a chance to launch the Update Newsletter for May. With all that is going on in the summer months, including the need to confirm the activity planned at Irish Times, the information scheduled for Update Newsletter was postponed and in part merged with this newsletter. We make every effort to ensure the newsletter is sent out in a timely manner and even more important that the information featured is accurate at the time.
